Green Acorns
I thought the squirrels were tearing down a lot of Oak branches until Tropical Depression Ernesto completely covered my yard with fresh fallen oak. While spending most of the day raking and cleaning up I noticed lots of green acorns....here is a 4x6 study in oil.
Thankyou Jan, I was thinking of you when I picked up these acorns today. You said they aren't too easy to paint..and you were right:)...a worthy challenge. I'm pleased that you like the leaves and shell, it's my personal favorite out of the series.
I've painted on the side all my life. In 2005 I started painting full time. Starting with the trompe L'oeil series "Scatter Paintings" and small "Daily" paintings. In 2007 I made an about turn to plein air work and Landscape painting...a subject and style that still keeps me captivated 12 years later. This internet diary keeps track of my progress. Unless noted, all the paintings posted on this blog are for Sale. You can contact me at CLAW4JC@aol.com for pricing and billing information.
