Some find it macabre that I paint dead animals. As long as they are in pristine condition I find small animals make wonderful subjects. I grew up in a family of hunters ( including my mother ). Personally I hate killing things, but I think my home enviroment may be part of the reason I'm drawn to paint these creatures. 8x10

Chuck, I am sure it is. I know this because I come from a long line of hunters and my hubby used to hunt often. He took me once and I shot a squirrel and was so sad that I did not go again. Ha!
Kat. The same happened to me, only with a rabbit...I felt so bad killing it, then to my horror, my Dad cut off one of it's hind feet and gave it to me for good luck! I was about 12 or so and that was the last animal I killed. Needless to say, my Dad was dissapointed, but time takes care of those things. As to be expected He loves these type of paintings.
