- I've painted on the side all my life. In 2005 I started painting full time. Starting with the trompe L'oeil series "Scatter Paintings" and small "Daily" paintings. In 2007 I made an about turn to plein air work and Landscape painting...a subject and style that still keeps me captivated 12 years later. This internet diary keeps track of my progress. This has a good composition/design. The overall light and color is good with very good water and sky effects. I sense the the ending of day and the feel and smell of the marsh air.

Chuck, I like your use of light in this one. The sparkles in the water and the shadows of the clouds bring a strong sense of place. If it helps you, please know that many of us are out here enjoying your progress.

I agree with Mr. Moore! The light in this painting is really fantastic. I had a painting teacher from CCAD named William Moore...
