Three Coffee Studies

A friend of mine brought me lunch( and snacks) couple of times when I was doing my outdoor shows this summer. I had a small watercolor of a cup of coffee that I told her to take as a token of my gratitude. Alas I've been unable to find it, so I did these studies with the idea of giving her one. She drinks more coffee then anyone I know...morning noon & even at night.

I like the blue background in the second one, but the reflections really catch my eye in the bottom one. Btw, thanks for the tip with the digital camera. :-)

Nick work! The first piece has great interest with the use of up-close perspective. Colors in second and third pieces I like best. Very appealing.

The curl of steam is interesting in the center painting. Nice to see three together for comparison on the same subject.

Thankyou for your comments everyone.
I think I'm going to do some more of these very soon. I was in a diner today and thought about asking if I could buy one of thier coffee "cup and saucer" sets to bring home and paint...I didn't though and now I'm regretting it. Guess I'll have to go back this week!
